Carol A. Edmier

Carol A. Edmier, 87, of North Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Western Springs, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 while in Hospice Care.
Carol was born in Chicago, IL to Theodore and Bernice Bandelin on August 24, 1936. Carol attended Oak Park- River Forest High School, then Purdue University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Carol enjoyed a successful teaching career before her children were born. She returned to the education system when her children were grown.
In retirement, Carol and her husband, the late James, moved to Florida, where she became active in many groups, most notably, The Southwest Florida Symphony Education Program, Kappa Alpha Theta, Cape Coral Rotary, Punta Gorda Women’s Club and Panhellenic Society.
Carol is survived by her sons, Robert (Christine) and Kenneth; Sister-in-law Marilyn (the late Thomas) Huseby; Brother in-law Jack (Floyd) Edmier; many nieces and nephews. Carol is preceeded in death by her husband, her parents and her infant daughter.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Fuller- Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL. Visitation is 11:30am to 1:00pm and the Memorial Service begins at 1:00pm. The family wishes to have a memorial service in the Chicagoland area at a later date.
